RAID epistemology

Borrowed from RAID computer technology, distributed parity is a redundancy method where parity data is spread across multiple drives rather than stored on a dedicated single disk, significantly improving write performance and fault tolerance.

what is distributed parity?
replacing fragile facts with RAID-based constructs

The Endogame uses constructs, not facts, allowing us to distribute our confidence across multiple fault-tolerant constructs. This means that even if a single date or relationship is wrong, the overall system remains relatively accurate.

a strategic necessity

This network couldn't survive scrutiny without a transparent system of fault tolerance. Dates, locations, and even entire people may be erroneous. However, the abundance of redundant connections allows us to acknowledge and resolve these errors without dismissing the overall validity of the network.

confidence via convergence

surrounding information validates claims, not the claims themselves

redundant constructs

If a claim is true, then several other claims must be true. By focusing on the emergence of such convergence rather than piece-by-piece validity, we can both cover more ground and have higher redundancy in our claims.

the details still matter

None of this is to say erroneous information should be accepted as valid, just that the system can handle and resolve such exceptions without crashing entirely.

facts don't exist

The idea that there are perfect building blocks of information that can exist independently of surrounding information is a byproduct of reductionism, not reality.
